Recreational Programs

NACOLG’s Regional and Community Planning staff assists to develop recreation plans for specific sites and for community wide parks and recreation. These programs provide important opportunities for local residents and visitors to engage in passive and active recreational pursuits in parks, trail systems, waterfronts and other locations throughout the region. These assets bring important quality of life and quality of place benefits to residents, attract visitors, and promote broader community growth and development goals related to economic development, tourism, and public services. NACOLG works closely with staff of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Development (ADECA) and the Alabama Department of Transportation to assist with implementation of these projects.
