Part-Time Court Referral Education Instructor
This position plays a vital role in facilitating court-mandated substance abuse education programs in accordance with Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) standards. Responsibilities include leading AOC-sponsored educational classes, delivering quality instruction, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with all program requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and passionate about educating participants while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
Position Details:
Part-Time
Starting pay: $20/hour
Eligible for a pay increase after AOC instructor certification is completed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; an associate's degree in Business, Social Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have at least three years of relevant experience in substance abuse, counseling, education, law enforcement, group facilitation, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license, be eligible for bonding, and be able to obtain and maintain AOC Certified Instructor credentials. Recovering substance abusers serving as instructors must have a minimum of three years of continuous sobriety. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and classroom facilitation skills; the ability to maintain accurate records and confidentiality; proficiency with basic computer applications; and the flexibility to work nontraditional hours and travel locally and out of town as needed.
