Congratulations to ARC Academies Graduates 👏
It’s graduation season for two of ARC’s most intensive learning opportunities: Appalachian Entrepreneurship Academy and the Appalachian STEM Academy.
Each of these programs equips middle or high school students (and their teachers) with practical, hands-on skills and strategies to strengthen the region’s economies. Whether it’s learning about careers in growing technology fields or what it takes to launch a successful business, the programs help prepare Appalachians to build brighter futures in the region.

COMMUNITY
Gov. Kay Ivey announced that Carbon Hill, Alabama, will use $500K in ARC area development funds to replace faulty, 50-year-old water mains. 🚿 The new water main will increase the reliability of service and improve water pressure for 100 households and 30 businesses.
Barrow County, Georgia, will combine $2M in ARC funds with $7.6M in local funds to expand the Tanners Bridge Wastewater Treatment Facility. 💧 The expanded processing capacity will support economic development in the surrounding Highway 316 corridor.APPALACHIA IN THE NEWS
