SHIP Program Specialist I - Salary range Grade 6 $45,198.40-$69,680.00
Job duties: Serves as a State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) Specialist. Interacts with the public and health professionals. Provides day-to-day routine tasks for the SHIP program, including client intake processes, Part D Advantage Plan comparisons, enrollment into drug plans, comparisons for supplements to Medicare, and public outreach. Maintains confidential information and files.
Job requirements: Possess a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field, from an accredited college or university.
Possess a minimum of two (2) years of professional work experience; professional work with aging populations is preferred.
Ability to obtain current State Health Insurance Counseling Program Certification within a designated period of time.
Ability to become a Certified Information and Referral Specialist – Aging and Disability designation within a designated period of time.
Possess a current and valid driver’s license, and remain insurable under the NACOLG policy for the duration of employment.
Ability to become bonded. Ability to work extended hours, and engage in overnight travel to attend meetings and training sessions.
Ability to successfully pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check.

Part-Time Court Referral Education Instructor
This position plays a vital role in facilitating court-mandated substance abuse education programs in accordance with Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) standards. Responsibilities include leading AOC-sponsored educational classes, delivering quality instruction, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with all program requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and passionate about educating participants while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
Position Details:
Part-Time
Starting pay: $20/hour
Eligible for a pay increase after AOC instructor certification is completed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; an associate's degree in Business, Social Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have at least three years of relevant experience in substance abuse, counseling, education, law enforcement, group facilitation, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license, be eligible for bonding, and be able to obtain and maintain AOC Certified Instructor credentials. Recovering substance abusers serving as instructors must have a minimum of three years of continuous sobriety. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and classroom facilitation skills; the ability to maintain accurate records and confidentiality; proficiency with basic computer applications; and the flexibility to work nontraditional hours and travel locally and out of town as needed.
