READY Local Governments Applications Due July 31
Applications for READY Local Governments are due July 31!
This virtual training program is geared toward local government officials who are looking to better identify, secure, manage and implement federally funded economic development projects. 💪
Upon successful completion of the training program, participants are eligible to apply for up to $50K in funding (no match required) to implement internal projects that help them address their communities’ economic needs.

COMMUNITY
Red Bay, Alabama, will use $2.3M in ARC funds to make needed improvements to local water capacity. 💧 In addition to rehabilitating an inactive well, the funds will support improvements to local water infrastructure, ensuring long-term access for residents and businesses.
The New River Expedition is raising awareness of and identifying opportunities along the New River Water Trail in Giles County, Virginia. 🏞️ The ARC-supported project has improved local economies all along its current 31-mile length.
ARC state partners, local leaders and residents met in Franklin, North Carolina, last month to identify a new economic development plan for the community. 📈 Highlighted strategies included revitalizing Main Street and promoting local assets like Southwestern Community College.APPALACHIA IN THE NEWS
