Applications Open for Summer Learning Opportunities ☀️
Students and teachers from Appalachia are invited to apply for our July 2027 summer learning opportunities!
💡 The Appalachian Entrepreneurship Academy, hosted by Appalachian State University, cultivates business and economic development skills in high school students.
🔬 At the Appalachian STEM Academy, middle and high school students and teachers expand their applied science and STEM education with instruction from scientists at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

Advantage Valley will use $2M in POWER funds to support West Virginia manufacturing businesses in hiring new employees, getting technical assistance and connecting with new distributors.⚡ The project should create 200 jobs and improve 225 businesses.
In Tuscarawas County, Ohio, a $2M POWER investment will expand training and career opportunities in the emerging field of community healthcarewhile developing training programs focused on aging and chronic disease management. 💪
More than $1.6M will enable Pitt’s Swanson School of Engineering to train workers in advanced manufacturing laser processing technologies. 🖥️ The funds will also support the installation of fiber-optic sensing systems, necessary for critical infrastructure, across Southwestern Pennsylvania.
