Appalachia Builds Brings Hundreds to Mississippi 🤝
It was a great week at ARCs Annual Conference Appalachia Builds: Breaking New Ground for Economic Growth in Starkville, Mississippi!
Attendees heard from our Federal Co-Chair Gayle Manchin, 2026 States’ Co-Chair Governor Tate Reeves and Mississippi State University President Mark Keenum.
During tailored breakout tracks, attendees also discussed strategies for attracting and retaining business, enhancing workforce pipelines, developing strong infrastructure, and modeling local economic success.

COMMUNITY
A highly anticipated sewer replacement project is underway in Mingo County, West Virginia. Approximately 23K linear feet of new gravity sewer pipe will replace outdated infrastructure first installed over 30 years ago. ARC contributed nearly $540K to the improvements. 🚰
More than $266K in ARC funds will be used for needed road improvements in Limestone County, Alabama. 🏗️ The construction will improve access to a future Food City location, bolstered by the grocery chain’s $19.5M investment in the site.
Using $170K in ARC funds, Main Street South Carolina is providing targeted support to area entrepreneur nd reach more customers. 📈 Participants receive technical assistance, 1:1 coaching and peer learning opportunities.APPALACHIA IN THE NEWS
